Present continuous tense it shows work is in progress while talking for example he is playing cricket ,in this we see he continuously playing so, here we use present continuous tense. In school teacher give us trick to find this if Hindi words ends with "raha tha, rahe they, rahi this then we use present continuous tense. Now lets talk about its formation before keep in mind that some sentence who may does not seems like continous in nature but still we use rule of present continuous like these given words read these words care . Negative: Sub+is/am/are+not+V1+ing+object, and

1. When work is like like routine work and its continuous nature still use Simple present their instead of continuous rule.
Exceptions of abovementioned note
If work is in continuous nature in regular habit but there is for some specified period so that here we use Continuous tense
